Giddy up, partners! Bryce Canyon Country has a chuck-wagon’s worth of attractions to enjoy in the summer and make the most of your vacation. Not only is Bryce Canyon Country the perfect place for your summer trip because of the beautiful, red rock landscape, but also because of the authentic Wild West experience available there.

Step back in time as you participate in Western adventures, cowboy cookouts and kick back on a Western ranch when you come to the Bryce Canyon area.

Western Adventures

Rise at the crack of dawn to trot to the edge of Bryce Canyon National Park on Ruby’s Inn’s horseback ride for all ages and experience levels. Overlook the tall, thin spires of rock called hoodoos. This unique sight is one you will never forget, especially when riding at sunset.

Take a trail ride through Red Canyon, similar to Bryce Canyon with Red Canyon Trail Rides. Your cowboy guide will lead you on adventures ranging from 30 minutes to a half-day long ride. Ride Butch Cassidy’s trail, named after the infamous outlaw on the half-day ride. This company also offers rides in Kodachrome Basin State Park.

Another option is to ride exclusively inside Bryce Canyon National Park. Canyon Rides is the only guide service to offer rides down to the floor of the canyon. Once the horses and riders reach the canyon floor, the ride lasts 2-3 hours and makes a loop through many rock formations, right in the heart of Bryce Canyon. There’s nothing more western than a ride through the canyon.

Wednesday through Saturday night, every week, participate in the fun and excitement of the rodeo. Attend special rodeo events that occur on holidays. Watch bronco busters and real cowboys present their skills in this competition. It’s the perfect family-friendly event to get you in the Western mood.
