Arches & Slot Canyons

Bryce Canyon Country’s geologic formations are absolute wonders, and nowhere is that more apparent than in our arches and slot canyons. Take your adventure to a whole new level and begin exploring these features on your next Bryce Canyon Country getaway.

Arches

Mother Nature is always hard at work shaping Bryce Canyon Country’s awe-inspiring bridges and arches. So what distinguishes these seemingly similar rock formations? A natural bridge is created from walled cliffs primarily by moving water erosion, such as a stream or river, whereas a natural arch is influenced by other forces of nature, like water, wind, chemical weathering, and frost wedging.

Slot Canyons

Bryce Canyon Country is bursting with amazing hikes and incredible views. But why just hike when you can interact with the earth? Hiking through slot canyons involves both hands and feet to climb over, shimmy through and duck under beautiful red rocks. To help make your Garfield County adventures complete, we have gathered, just for you, a list of four stunning slot canyon trails in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Hike a slot canyon on your own or learn more about canyoneering in Bryce Canyon Country.
