Scenic Byway 143

Nicknamed Utah’s Patchwork Parkway, Scenic Byway 143 is a site of history and beauty within southern Utah. In 1864, Mormon pioneers were forced to lay quilts down along their way to avoid sinking into the deep winter snow on their journey to Parowan, Utah. The famous story is now celebrated each year with a Quilt Walk.
