Rodeos and Rodeo Events – Bryce Canyon Region

The cowboy spirit lives on in Bryce Canyon Country, more than a century after pioneers set out to tame the Wild West. Several rodeo events each year provide thrilling entertainment and offer a glimpse into Bryce Canyon Country’s proud western heritage.

Rodeo events and demonstrations are readily available in Bryce Canyon Country.

Rodeo season generally runs from May to October, beginning with the Bryce Canyon Country Rodeo. This is the place to watch steer-roping cowboys and bronco busters show off their skills.  Spectators can try their own luck at riding and roping bull, steer, and sheep…even kids can get in on the action.   The ongoing rodeo event is held nightly at Ruby’s Inn Rodeo Grounds, Wednesdays through Saturdays beginning Memorial Day weekend through the end of August. (Rodeo events come to a halt for one week in June, in support of the Utah State High School Rodeo Finals.)  General admission tickets for the weekly events can be purchased at Ruby’s Inn or at the rodeo entrance gate.

The Triple C Arena hosts a variety of rodeo events throughout the year including the acclaimed Doug Tebbs Team Roping, FFA Rodeo, NBHA Barrel Race, and ZD Trailer Roping, in addition to three major rodeos.

The nationally sanctioned Little Britches Rodeo, where future champions ages four to eighteen get to show off their tough bull riding, barrel racing and steer roping skills, takes place at the beginning and end of the summer.

In July, the Panguitch High School Invitational invites contestants from the U.S. and Canada for a full week of rodeo competition.  A dance follows each evening’s rodeo events.

Any time of year, you can get a taste of the real west by taking a horseback ride in the Bryce Canyon region.
