Mecham Outfitters and Guide Service offer private horse and mule tours of the rugged landscape of the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument. We take you through winding slot canyons filled with local history and give you a new perspective of Bryce Canyon by showing you different angles of the crimson canyon not many visitors get to see. Our goal is to give you a real riding experience with an entertaining and knowledgeable guide in some of the most spectacular countries you will ever explore.
Willis Creek Half-Day Ride

Departure time 7:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. depending on the season and temperature
This ride begins at the head of Sheep Crick and takes you through Navajo sandstone canyons then through very narrow slot canyons. When you top out you get a panoramic view of the Colorado Plateau region. This ride is on the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. This is a seven-mile ride.
All Day Rides
Mecham Outfitters specializes in all-day or five-day horse trips. Ride a different trail every day with experienced guides through some of the most scenic countries in southern Utah. Discounts offered to groups of six or more ($120 per person).
Thunder Mountain All Day Ride
Approximately 4.5 hours
$140 per person
This ride is in scenic Red Canyon. You will ride through formations that are just like the ones found in Bryce Canyon National Park. You’ll ride by hoodoos and through bristlecone and ponderosa forests.
Grand View Trail All Day Ride
Approximately 6 hours
$140 per person
This ride is on the Dixie National Forest. This is a backcountry ride and has some of the best views southern Utah has to offer.
Henderson Canyon All Day Ride
Approximately 6 hours
$140 per person
This ride starts out in the pinion and junipers and then the trail takes you through yellow sandstone ledges. We will ride up a historic cattle driveway where cattlemen still trail cattle back and forth to the summer ranges.
Powell Point All Day Ride

Approximately 5-6 hours
$140 per person
This ride will take you to the highest plateau in the Colorado Plateau region. This beautiful ride will take your breath away. It is weather permitting and lots of up and down trails.
