Aerial Tours – Bryce Canyon Country

Aerial tours over Bryce Canyon Country are a great way to get a bird’s eye view of the incredibly scenic region.

Bryce Canyon Airlines has been in operation since 1977, offering scenic helicopter and plane tours, and charter plane service including flights to and from Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City. Bryce Canyon Airlines’ claim to fame is its outstanding narrated scenic flights over Bryce Canyon and surrounding landscape. With more than 35 years of F.A.A.-certified flight experience, Bryce Canyon Airlines has designed unforgettable flights over Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and other dramatic scenic jewels.

The Encounter Flight

Bryce Canyon Airline’s most popular aerial tour is the “Encounter” flight, which offers a view of Bryce Canyon’s Rainbow Point, Natural Bridge, dramatic red rock hoodoos, deep canyons, waterfalls, and remote backcountry vistas that simply can’t be seen from within the park. The “Fairyland” aerial tour covers Boat Mesa, Sinking Ship, Tower Natural Bridge, Large Cliffs, and Fairyland Canyon. The “Deluxe” aerial flight soars over Bristlecone Point, the fault line, and other inaccessible areas. The “Full Canyon” tour flies over all of Bryce Canyon National Park, plus Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Bull Valley Gorge, Paria Ghost Town, Indian ruins, seasonal waterfalls, and more.

Helicopter Tours

Bryce Canyon helicopter tours fly low and slow, for a truly up-close aerial sightseeing experience. The truly adventurous may want to try a thrilling open cockpit biplane ride from Bryce Canyon to the Grand Canyon. Aerial tours range from 30 minutes to four hours, depending on the flight itinerary. The flights are available from small chartered airplanes and helicopters. Flights depart from the Ruby’s Inn Heliport.

Bryce Canyon Airport

Bryce Canyon Airport services regional charters from Grand Canyon Airlines, the Las Vegas-based Krysal Aviation, and Westwind Air Service out of Phoenix, AZ. Operated by Garfield County, Bryce Canyon Airport caters to small prop planes, charters, and private planes. Thanks to the log-style hangar built by the Works Progress Administration in 1936 from local ponderosa pine, the Bryce Canyon Airport was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
