Zion National Park Utah
The Garfield County Travel Council can be an invaluable resource for planning a vacation to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah’s crown-jewel scenic attractions
If you want to take a vacation to an incredible national park, Utah’s Zion and Bryce Canyon are excellent options. Located only approximately 85 miles from one another, your national park vacation could include both parks. Encompassing 229 square miles, Zion National Park canyon is a scenic showcase of narrow canyons, forested plateaus and towering sandstone monoliths. Bryce Canyon is not actually a canyon at all, but a series of natural amphitheaters displaying innumerable hoodoos, rock pinnacles and spires of many hues, from pink to orange to chalky white.
Zion and Bryce Canyon, however, are not the only national parks in Utah worth visiting. A part of the Grand Circle, southwestern Utah is also home to Capitol Reef National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument. In southeastern Utah, you will also find Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Natural Bridges National Monument and Hovenweep National Monument. If you want to tour national parks within close proximity, Utah is the place to do it.
Panguitch makes an ideal lodging headquarters for explorations of Utah national parks. Bryce Canyon National Park (Utah’s second most visited national park) is only 24 miles from Panguitch. Located in downtown Panguitch, the Garfield County Travel Council is an excellent source of travel information about the national parks, state parks and recreation areas in southwestern Utah and the Grand Circle.
