Bryce Canyon Utah

National Park Utah

The Garfield County Travel Council will be an excellent advisor when planning a trip to Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park, Utah’s most popular scenic destinations

If you want to sightsee or hike among spectacular scenery in a national park, Utah is the place to do it. Southwestern Utah is home to two of the best-known national parks in the country – Zion and Bryce Canyon. Zion is a 229-square-mile spectacle of forested plateaus, towering sandstone monoliths, and narrow canyons that awes all visitors, whether it is their first time in the park or their fifteenth. Bryce Canyon displays seemingly innumerable colorful rock pinnacles and spires, known as hoodoos, in a series of natural amphitheaters.

Both Zion National Park, Utah’s oldest and most visited, and Bryce Canyon National Park are recreational paradises. One of the most popular recreation activities in both parks is hiking their trails to gain a greater appreciation for their one-of-a-kind scenery. Both national parks feature trails appropriate for every level of hiker, from short, paved paths to dirt-packed routes with switchbacks and strenuous climbs. Some of the most popular trails in Zion for first-time visitors are Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock, and Riverside Walk. The most popular paths in Bryce Canyon are the Navajo Trail, the Queen’s Garden Trail and the paved portion of the Rim Trail from Sunrise Point to Sunset Point.
